Editorial Regulations

Ethical and Legal Considerations

The journal cautions submitting authors to use appropriate citations when referencing the work of other authors and/or themselves. The journal does not endorse or knowingly permit plagiarism, including duplicate publication of the author's own work, in whole or in part, without proper citation. Manuscripts submitted to the journal may be checked for originality using antiplagiarism software. Authors should not submit their manuscripts to multiple journals at the same time and should not submit a previously published work.

Authors are expected to comply with APA ethical standards (http://www.apa.org/ethics/code/index.aspx) and institutional and federal regulations on the treatment of human subjects. Compliance with the institutional review process should be stated clearly in the manuscript (in the Method section).

We will take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers in which the research was improperly conducted, for example, listing author(s) who have not made significant contributions to the paper. In the event that we are made aware of any allegation of research misconduct, we shall deal with allegations appropriately according to our guidelines for retracting or correcting articles when needed.

When in doubt about any aspect of the ethics of manuscript submission, the author should contact the editor, who will make the final decision in consultation with editorial committee members. In all cases, authors should disclose any circumstances about which there may be questions.
